I am a first-year DPT student at Gannon University and a graduate of John Carroll University, majoring in exercise science. As a DPT student, I am interested in how rehabilitative training and progressive physiological adaptations can be used to prevent the primary causes of certain injuries from interfering with normal levels of function and performance. My coursework at Gannon University has consisted of human anatomy and physiology, foundations of human movement, musculoskeletal disease and dysfunctions, pathology, essentials of physical therapy, evidence based practice, health care policies and procedures, foundations in geriatric rehabilitation, and community health initiative with a self directed service project. I have also completed integral courses in John Carrol's exercise science curriculum such as lifespan growth and development, exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, motor learning, sports psychology, kinesiology, research methods, statistics, principles of strength and conditioning, psychology, human anatomy and physiology, physics, biology, chemistry, and creative problem solving. I have also been a part of the John Carroll football team as a student athlete and volunteer student assistant, the John Carroll University Christian Fellowship of Collegiate Athletes (CFCA), as well as the John Carroll PT and OT Club. I also have completed the John Carroll Leadership Formation Series that focused on these topics: self-awareness, non-positional leadership, using personal strengths to solve problems, and ethical decision-making.

Specific tasks include compiling patient intake information, scheduling new and returning appointments, managing patient information through TherapySource and NetHealth scheduling software, collect co-pays and co-insurance payments, answering phones, completing daily billing reports, faxing plans of care and worker’s compensation information to various doctor’s offices and case managers, verify patients’ insurance information to ensure proper billing for therapy services, obtaining authorization for PT services for multiple different insurance carriers, enter retail charges for items such as lumbar rolls, TheraBand products such as exercise balls and resistance bands, massage balls, TheraCane products, and BioFreeze tubes, uphold company safety and sanitation policies, and provide exceptional care and service for all patients.
