Since 2006, Trevor has been strategically advising Boards of Directors on the planning and execution of their corporate compensation matters at Lane Caputo.Trevor’s approach to helping clients is served by his holistic life perspective, of not simply observing, but diving in to “appreciate and understand”. This instinct, to appreciate and understand, is what Trevor employs daily for clients who count on him to help them understand what does and does not apply to them. Regulators, governance organizations, and shareholders all create ‘noise’ that their issue is important; Trevor’s strength is to look strategically at the short, medium and long-term, to map out how a company should respond in today’s complex executive compensation environment.Trevor is passionate about enabling his clients to do what they do best technically while he focuses on delivering a sound compensation program that will attract, retain and incent the client’s key talent. He consistently delivers sound compensation programs that drive shareholder value, comply with regulatory guidelines, and fit within each company’s philosophical and strategic plans.Trevor is a member of Calgary Total Rewards Network and World at Work, and volunteers with the Calgary Food Bank and The Mustard Seed. He is currently working towards his Certified Compensation Professional designation (CCP) as well as his Compensation Management Specialist designation (CMS). Trevor's areas of focus include: development of compensation policies; data collection, analysis, and interpretation; design of compensation programs (including salary plans, annual incentives, long term incentives, stock plans, benefits, perquisites and rewards for tenure); education of clients on current corporate governance issues (including the role of the directors in executive compensation, directors' pay, the role of the Compensation Committee of the Board as well as the rationale of certain compensation approaches).
