As the CEO of W.P. Carey Inc from July 2010 to February 2016, supported by a talented energetic team I led the company through its transition from being a lightly traded $1.5 billion LLC, still controlled by its founder, William P Carey, to being a broadly held $11.5 billion public REIT widely recognized as having the deepest international experience and portfolio diversity, with a presence in 21 countries.As part of this transformative phase, our team brought this 43 year old firm through several milestones, including: fast track inclusion on key indexes, investment grade rating; inaugural public equity offering and public debt transactions (both US dollar and Euro); expansion into Asia and Africa as well as growth to the footprint in Europe. The team also expanded the firm's investment management business to become recognized participants in both the hotel sector ($2.5 billion) and self-storage sector ($1.1 billion) in addition to our traditional leadership in the corporate sale leaseback sector.During my tenure, the company performed in the top quartile of public REITs in the RMZ index. The share price grew from $24.70 in 2010 to $59 by year end 2015. This performance was based on revenue growth from $200.6 million in 2010 to $859.7 million in 2015 and AFFO/share growth from $3.27 in 2010 to $4.98 in 2015.Currently I am focusing my efforts on real estate and early stage investing through Maidstone Investment Company, which I established in 2002.
