As a Scientific Aide, I monitor commercial fisheries at Terminal Island and San Pedro for coastal pelagic species (CPS) and highly migratory species (HMS). The CPS includes Market squid, Pacific mackerel, Pacific sardine, Northern anchovy, and Jack mackerel. Where HMS includes Bluefin tuna, Yellowfin tuna, swordfish, sharks, and more. When seiners arrive to unload their holds, I collect information from the captains and obtain a small sample. Samples are then taken back to the lab to be processed for more data. This includes weight, length, sex, maturity, condition, and extracting the otoliths/statoliths for aging.I have personally:• Collected and transported more than 150 samples using standardized techniques• Processed and dissected over 1,000 individual fish and extracted otoliths/statoliths for aging• Consolidated sample data and entered into state databases• Identified dozens of species of bycatch ranging from algae to sharks• Compiled information collected from the fishery for over 200 dock reports • Processed hundreds of Market squid logs acquired from captains• Used large datasets in tools, like Power BI, to visualize relationships within data

As the assistant to the President of EDS, I deployed a wide range of skills to perform a variety of duties. These duties can vary from clerical work and marketing, to assisting in installation and service of equipment in the field. I research and write/edit articles relating to environmental deficiencies/hazards and ways to correct them. A major part of my work is extensively word processing to create spreadsheets, certificates, vouchers, data entry, and much more.

As a field mechanic I operated heavy equipment and complex machinery for cable transport installations and serviced ski lifts, trams, and surf pools. I was certified in Non-Destructive Testing via Magnetic Particle and Ultrasonic methods, which was used to detect defects and/or damage to critical components. I have operated forklifts, reach trucks, electric lifts, tele handlers, and more. I worked with many of the top Ski/Mountain resorts in the country including Vail, Aspen, Snowmass, Stowe, Mount Hood, and more. I worked for state departments to service and maintain the Roosevelt Island Tram in New York City and the Pacoima Dam tram in California. As a field service technician, the work required a wide variety of duties that not just involved customers but overlapped with other departments. This encompassed everything from providing on the spot spacial reasoning, problem solving, and critical thinking on job sites, developing and/or improving relationships between clients and the company. Communicating clearly and concisely with other departments within the company was a necessity. Other work meant filling and filing customer orders for parts. It was common to not just pull parts from the warehouse but to deliver them to the customers personally.
