Material Planner• Responsible for the housekeeping, security, accessibility to materials, and safe work practices at the various drop point and lay down areas, including monthly safety audits.• Be familiar with area, equipment and associated parts.• Provides direction to Material Technician, and coordinates relative time off scheduling to ensure general coverage for Outage and overall maintenance as required. • Maintains and supports actions to ensure all aspects of Loss Management are adhered to.• Ensures that all procedures are followed in obtaining materials, and all documentation is complete and available, e.g., Field Inventory & Warehouse Inventory is checked prior to going to purchasing new material.• Ensures that all stock issues, material requisitions, and low dollar purchases are keyed into the system correctly, so that the proper material is available for a certain job. Obtains approvals for purchases per DOAG guidelines.• Ensures adequate personnel resources for the outage to ensure that all material handling comes off effectively and efficiently.• Ensures that materials Status Logs are maintained daily and updates provided to Outage Planner. Ensures all Quality Assurance and Engineering requests are met when procuring materials.• Coordinates with Central Maintenance Services (CMS) in securing materials for all jobs - to avoid duplication and reduce cost by using existing supplies. • Assists the Field Technicians and Planners in every day and/or major problem solving, that all needs are being met, and rushes and priorities are handled expediently.• Reduces cost of premiums and hot shots by maximizing pre-Outage purchases. • Ensures Outage Drop-Points are stocked and ready in accordance with contingency plans. • Coordinates material mapping with the Outage Coordinator, to ensure material is used for the job it was purchased for.
