I currently am working under a Licensed Soil Scientist and learning various aspects of being a Soil Scientist. Over the past three years I have gained valuable experience in: soil profiling, soil analysis, septic design, septic inspection, and formal soil reports. I am working to become a Licensed Soil Scientist, and also to hold certifications as a Septic Inspector & Septic Installer (I am already the former).I am able to design septic systems in the field, and am somewhat proficient designing systems in the office on AutoCAD. I have learned how to perform kSAT (water saturation) tests, collect raw data from said tests, and organize the data into tables and graphs which go into formal reports to the appropriate government office. I am able to work and follow directions from my boss, but I am also able to work under my own initiative without directions in order to accomplish the goals before me.Over the past three years working for a Licensed Soil Scientist I have helped design several large scale residential developments (+80 lots) from start to finish, as well as numerous medium to smaller sized residential developments. I am able to manage several tasks and work separately on each without compromising my focus or output. I look forward to learning more about the field of soil science as well as septic design, and to the next challenges in a career in both fields.
