A Hampton Roads/Tidewater native, Dr. M. Trey Weis, DDS grew up in Virginia Beach. He attended James Madison University where he received his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1995. He then went on to earn his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University and Pediatric Residency at the State University of New York in Buffalo.Prior to establishing his Portsmouth Pediatric Dentistry Practice, Dr. Weis completed extensive specialized postgraduate education in pediatric dentistry. He is now a Board eligible Specialist in pediatric dentistry and enjoys sharing his knowledge with aspiring dental students. His academic appointments include Associate Dental Instructor at the University at Buffalo and at Virginia Commonwealth University.Dr. Weis values continuing education and professional development both for himself and his staff. His research interests include dentofacial development in the growing and developing child. He is a standing member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association, and (g)nathos, Inc. Dr. Weis will be a guest lecturer with (g)nathos, Inc. in the Spring of 2011 traveling to Romania and Poland, where he will discuss orthodontics in the growing child.When Dr. Weis is not practicing his passion of pediatric dentistry, he spends most of his time with his children, Raegan and Jackson.
