CurrentThe Government aims to build 1.5m new homes during its term. Local councils are the key delivery arm for that national ambition - either as planning authorities, giving permission to build new homes, or directly building new homes themselves. So, each month, we’re visiting a different council in England to ask what works and what doesn’t in getting new homes built. We think it’s time to hear the voices of the practitioners – the people who have to deliver on the promises – so we can build a clearer understanding of what is needed to deliver the homes we need.
