That is an observation, where we have something that happened (you drop the object), and a result with it (the object fall and hit the ground). You are certainly neither the first nor the last person on this world to have ever dropped something and seen it fall to the ground.Newton experienced the same thing too. In fact, he came up with a hypothesis in an attempt to explain what happened when he saw an apple falling down from a tree and hit the ground. The hypothesis then became so famous that we all now know of it as The Gravitational Law. As Newton himself stated: "No great discovery was ever made without a bold guess," from a single observation of a falling apple to a great discovery of humankind. Thanks to this era of digitalization, billions of similar observations can be recorded and handed to you within a week.
