Responsibilities: • Provide assistance and advice to the Dean in coordination of general education offerings and support in budgetary decisions.• Coordinate undergraduate curriculum for all departments in the College, including management of the College curriculum committee. • Oversee the process for revising all course proposals within the College in preparation for Higher Learning Commission accreditation visit.• Oversee all student academic integrity issues in the College.• Responsible for student grade appeals, waiver requests, late and retroactive withdrawal requests, and suspension appeals in the College. • Serve as member of the Faculty Senate Academic Standards Committee which develops, recommends implementation of procedures, and interprets university academic policy.• Assists academic departments in development of assessment plans as needed and requested.• Coordinates Activity Insight implementation in the College• Provides training and re-training to faculty concerning academic advising; policies and procedures, and understanding the student degree audit report.• Articulates university policy and procedures to College faculty and staff as needed.• Serves on College and/or University committees as requested by the Dean.• Represents the College at activities, meetings and events in absence of the Dean.

University of Wisconsin – River Falls is a public liberal arts school and has an enrollment of close to 6,000 undergraduate students and about 500 graduate students. The College of Arts and Sciences currently has 89 tenure-line faculty, approximately 104 instructional academic staff, and approximately 1900 undergraduate students housed in 28 majors and 16 academic departments, as well as specialty programs that support both domestic and international English language learners. Responsibilities: • Manage a total operating budget of over $7 million • Coordinate scheduling and budgeting general education courses within the College• Oversee and support development of the faculty, including hiring, retention, tenure and promotion• Encourage and support the research, scholarly and creative activities of faculty and students consistent with the mission of the University• Support ongoing program reviews and annual assessments • Work with diverse constituencies to promote both College & University programs• Carry out regular tenure, promotion and reappointment reviews • Serve as member of the Provost’s Deans Council• Serve as member of the Chancellor’s CabinetKey Achievements: • Led the collaborative inter-institutional effort resulting in articulation agreements with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.• Secured funding for four tenure track lines within first semester of interim Dean position• Secured $198,444 funding to directly support needs within the college within first two semesters of interim Dean position (WRFW Radio Studio suite remodel; Band/Choir room instructional technology; Music lab technology; Davies & Syse Theater lighting dimmer system; student assistance funding)• Collaborated with Human Resources to address personnel and departmental issues in ways consistent with university policy and procedures. • Identified chair compensation issues and successfully worked with upper administration to address issues.

2006-2008Reporting to the Provost, position was initiated to build a culture of assessment at UWRF. The position was created to develop, manage and implement a comprehensive assessment program at the institution.Responsibilities:• Promote active involvement in assessment activities across all University areas.• Promote and assist in the integration of assessment of student learning outcomes within all university programs.• Encourage programs to use the results from assessment activities to improve student learning.• Planned assessment related professional development opportunities – including guest speakers, workshops, reading resources.Key Achievements:• Developed and implemented a plan to assess student learning outcomes that was faculty led, administratively supported, and student centered.• Efforts resulted in a successful Higher Learning Commission re-accreditation visit with no concern in assessment efforts.
