About Kristof Van Houdt

Kristof has more than 18 years of experience in the teaching industry and 8 years in education technology related roles. His areas of interest are adult education, the use of technology in the classroom, and from a research perspective the effective application of sports platform and wearable analytics.During his career, he has implemented and set up various new course materials. These range from a variety of English programs to technologies used in business settings. Some of his roles included creating all the relevant resources and training both the academic and sales staff at his schools to successfully integrate these programs into the curriculum.His passion lies in providing high quality products for his students. Kristof believes the 21st century allows a whole new exciting dimension to learning thanks to the new technologies at our disposal. Teacher training and increasing digital literacy and wisdom play a key role in this change. He has set up programs on a range of learning management systems (e.g. Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard) and has managed a mobile device management system for all mobile devices in his university.His various positions in South East Asia have allowed him to work on projects in a multi-cultural environment. He is able to perform in an innovative environment and meet strict deadlines. He tends to look for a proactive solution to problems as he is convinced every issue can be resolved. He loves being challenged and takes great pride in his work.Kristof is also an avid multi-sports athlete in his free time. He shares his passion for running, duathlon and triathlon with others, and regularly participates in coaching sessions to prepare amateur athletes for sporting events. Additionally, he has been an assistant race director for the Techcombank Marathon in Ho Chi Minh City and Ironman 70.3 Vietnam. Future research endeavors will focus on how sports app and wearable analytics can motivate and engage athletes.
