Undertaking consulting assignments for INGO's and NGO's, some recently completed are;• Conducted Action-Research on the efficacy of post-earthquake Cash Insertion Program implemented by World Vision International (WVI) in Nepal • Undertook final evaluation of Community Mediation program funded by USAID• Supported NGO's for headhunting and project development for the pitch to donors/development agencies

•Lectured and tutored on peace-building topics in general as well as UN's peacekeeping operations, Disarmament-Demobilization-Reintegration (DDR), Armed Violence Reduction (AVR) and civil-military relations. •Coordinated as well as supervised and mentored student's fieldwork and research•Marked examination and research papers for CPDS and the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences at Tribhuvan University

As the project manager of a program jointly implemented by UNDP Nepal and Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of Nepal, I• Oversaw and guided the implementation and managing of the project on a day-to-day basis• Built strategic partnership and collaboration with project stakeholders and partners• Supervised and directed effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting of project activities• Conducted performance appraisal of project personnel• Provided critical input for follow on initiatives by UNDP as well as the GovernmentAccomplishment: Mid-term independent evaluation of the project conducted at the end of 2015 revealed that the project had achieved significant progress on its indicators. One of them being the development and implementation of a significant number of community-owned action plans to address and enhance security and livelihood issues.

• Coordinated the liaison and setting up of forthcoming UNDP project including staff recruitment• Appraised, oversaw and directed the work of consultants, staff and implementing partner agencies• Provided technical guidance to the senior management for the design and approval of project activitiesAccomplishment: AVRSCS project became operational in June, and I got appointed as the project manager through a competitive recruitment process.

• Drove the implementation of DANIDA funded Armed Violence Reduction project • Oversaw piloting of Fast Track Initiative (FTI) on Local Governance and Service Delivery (LGSD) funded by SIDA, World Bank and other donors. • Directed and led the development of work plans, budgets, and field mobilization • Managed strategic relationships with stakeholders, including State & County level government authorities and communities. Accomplishment: The projects got disrupted due to the resurgence of the conflict in late December of 2013, but the tenure in South Sudan apart from enriching my technical knowledge gave me an excellent opportunity to be more familiar with business processes of major donors like World Bank, DANIDA, SIDA as well as work of INGO’s like PACT, DRC and others.

• Appraised and provided technical-political inputs to the Head of Peacebuilding and Recovery Unit and UN Senior Advisor on matters related to rehabilitation of Ex-Combatants• Coordinated provision of technical, material and knowledge-based support from UN to the Government• Oversaw work of consultants and facilitated their engagement with Government Stakeholders• Facilitated development of knowledge management and lessons learnt documentsAccomplishment: The position allowed me to be familiar with the work of the UN Country team and dynamics around high-level engagements on a critical and fast-paced politically sensitive issue.

Supported the work of the UN Mine Action Team in Nepal in clearing the minefields and Improvised explosive devices laid during the conflict, and as such;• Oversaw and administered implementation of Quality Management System• Provided technical guidance to clearance teams • Trained personnel of Nepal Army demining units • Organized Inter-Agency liaison/coordination meetings

I had a professional career of 13 years in the military: involving progressive command responsibilities of units apart from working as a staff officer at Brigade, Division and Army HQ. Some of the critical duties performed were;•Served as the ADC to the Chief of the Army Staff (Gen. Prajwalla SJB Rana). •Worked as Instructor at various Training Units•Seconded to United Nations to work as a Military Observer with UN Assistance Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) and as Peacekeeper with Nepalese Contingent in UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).•Undertook courses and training at military academies-institutions in UK, Pakistan and Nepal.

Worked as a Military Observer with United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone (UNAMSIL) as • Member at MILOBS team-site in Koidu, Port Loko • NGO liaison officer at the DDR cell at UNAMSIL HQ Achievements: gained hands-on experience in the disarmament of ex-combatants as well as rich insight into UN-led inter-agency coordination mechanism

Worked as an engineer troop commander with the Nepalese peacekeeping contingent deployed to United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL)
