Responsible for partnering with underwriting to generate and deliver customized insurance and non-traditional risk management solutions for our property and casualty commercial clients.

 Provide leadership and oversight to staff to ensure successful completion of project/strategic initiatives within established timeframes and budget. Provide formal project reporting to management.  Serve as a liaison with new business partners to collect business requirements to direct Project Management staff in development of project definition and work plans. Implementation of new business for health insurance and property and casualty insurance division with an operating budget of over $300 million.  Provide regular status reporting on projects/strategic initiatives to ASA Senior Management. Prepare presentations describing projects/strategic initiatives and formally present to Senior Management and Board of Directors.  Monitor operations of the insurance division to identify potential system/process gaps. Collaborate with internal staff and external vendors, as appropriate, to formulate recommendations to correct system/process gaps. Recommendations include cost/benefit analysis that defines impact on existing staffing (count and cost), project costs including equipment, software, vendor costs, etc. and expected savings, if any, to be realized by completion of the project. Formally present improvement recommendations to ASA Senior management and lead Project Management staff through implementation of approved recommendations.  Responsible for return on investment (ROI) of each project or process that is implemented.  Develop professional improvement opportunities, including process enhancements and/or introduction of new technologies. Successful implementation of a new multi-million dollar insurance billing system. Current software implementation has an anticipated operating savings of over $1 million within 2-3 years of use. Implementation of on-line access for national prospects and clients.

Nearly 400 people have already completed the program and are currently serving their communities in a variety of leadership roles. Over ninety percent of our graduates are involved in food, agriculture and natural resource organizations, and many also serve on organizational boards and committees, or in governmental positions. Still others have applied their skills as management consultants, media advisors, volunteers, or their own entrepreneurial endeavors. Indeed, it would be difficult to look at the leadership of virtually any food or agricultural organization in the state and not see at least a few LEAD New York graduates in leadership roles in those organizations. LEAD New York graduates "step up" when called upon to lead.
