Created national and regional media relations campaigns on breast cancer and underage drinking. Created comprehensive underage drinking prevention program (Drawing the Line on Underage Alchol Use) that became a national model, including extensive media relations, advocacy, educational and other components. Served as co founder and legislative chair of Maryland Underage Drinking Prevention Coalition and led hotly contested but successful fight to pass keg registration and other bills in Maryland. As lead advocate and spokesperson for the Coalition, acted as spokesperson in the Washington Post and other papers, on television and the radio.Spearheaded the campaign to serve historic Noyes Children's Library, a special library of the Montgomery County public library system which was slated for closure. Wrote a successful grant application for funds and worked with a citizens committee to help organize a fundraiser and to advocate for keeping the library open to serve the community's youth.

As Associate Director, created a media relations program that generated more than 60 million media impressions in the first several months, including placements on every major national news program and major newspapers and radio broadcasts. Sometimes acted as the spokesperson as well as the media relations manager. Also played an integral role in creating initiatives and materials, including designing programs, writing brochures, scripts and plans and supervising award-winning video productions.Served as Public Education Director for Businesses for a Drug Free America, a joint program of ACDE and the U.S. Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, a division of the Department of Health and Human Services. Worked closely with funders and wrote numerous grants and reports on fundraising. Succeeded in obtaining substantial increases from the funder supporting public relations each year, based on the success of the program.
