I started working in Kalighat, one of Asia's oldest and largest red light areas, at the age of 18. My interaction with commercial sex workers spurred my passion to channel the immense strength and potential I saw in them towards becoming the best social change leaders of our times. I co-founded a non-profit, Kranti at the age of 22, in Mumbai. Kranti identifies the potential in girls who have been trafficked to become agents of social change, as they have survived the worst social adversities, and have the passion and understanding to solve these social problems.Since then, I have been a serial social entrepreneur, innovating in the field of building 21st century leadership.

Chief Visioning OfficerFields Of View Nov 2022 - May 2024Bengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaPutting the PUBLIC in PUBLIC POLICY!We all agree that it's critical to include the public's voice in public policies. But the public policy cycle is complex, the issues are talked about in jargon laden language, and let's admit it - it's a little bit boring! So, how do we get the public's opinion, especially from all demographics? By playing games on public policy issues! We build and scale games, simulations and tools for inclusive, relevant and effective public policy, and get them into the hands of diverse stakeholders - from policy makers, to development leaders, funders and investors, active citizens and on-ground communities. -
Lead, Polity - Asia'S First Experiential Public Policy Course!Fields Of View Mar 2022 - Nov 2022Bengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaImagine a public policy course with no boring policy papers and theories, no analysing case studies and age old policies. Imagine learning public policy by playing games! In Polity - Asia's first experiential public policy course, we learn how to make appropriate climate change policy, gender equity policy, inclusive development policies through games and simulations! In Polity, you experience the life of a waste collector, a garment factory worker, to form appropriate policies that actually respond to their needs. You plan the water resources of a city, or design your own city from scratch(!) on systems dynamic tech models, and the predictive model, trained on real world data, tells you the impact of your decisions 5 , 10, 20 years later.I'm so excited to be leading Polity, and I truly believe it is going to usher in a new future of improved, appropriate and inclusive policy making in India. -
