As the Rough Bonded Product Manager I am responsible for developing and implementing a business strategy for cut-off, both stock and made to order, as well as steel conditioning and track grinding. My key responsibilities can be divided into the following categories:1) Developing and maintaining pricing strategy for the product lines. 2) Working in conjunction with the field sales organization to develop market channels, including retail and catalog, for abrasive products.3) Working to position products in the industrial markets using multiple tiers.4) Growing market share by understanding and quantifying opportunities for growth. 5) Working with R&D, Field Sales, and Application Engineering to develop and launch new products into the market.6) Understanding and leveraging manufacturing capacity, effectively managing inventory, and supporting product rationalization.7) Analyzing costs and providing direction in terms of manufacturing requirements and sourcing initiatives

The Corporate Applications Engineering group focuses on improving customer application and process opportunities utilizing abrasive products sold by Saint-Gobain Abrasives, North America. Key industrial markets include Aerospace, Automotive, Bearing, Production Cabinet, Cutting Tool, Foundry, Furniture, Gear, Medical Instruments and Prosthesis, Metal, Paint, and Composite Finishing, Particle board and Plywood Production, and the Primary Metals Manufacturing markets. Within these industries, a myriad of applications that utilize abrasive products to remove metal, wood or composites, achieve part shape or dimension, and / or to generate a specific surface finish is supported. These markets generate over $450M in North American revenues and also provides over $2.5 billion dollars in abrasive growth potential to Saint Gobain Abrasives’ Bonded, Coated, and Super abrasive businesses. Share growth is generated by deploying application engineering resources to differentiate our products and services at existing and potential customers thereby providing real process solutions and cost savings on site.
