I am a senior majoring in Civil Engineering at Prairie View A&M University. I love math and science. This led me to choose my degree in Engineering. I also enjoy giving back to my community. Over the years, I have held multiple leadership roles, been involved in community service, and I have a will to learn and succeed. I am excited to work under professional Engineers and gain new knowledge.Currently, I am a co-op at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. While here, I got to work on multiple projects in the Engineering and External Hazards Branch, as well as network with different divisions and executive officers. I am also the President of the ASCE student chapter.While in the last three years of college, I had the opportunity to participate in the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering Summer Bridge Program, intern with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and join many organizations. I learned what it takes to become a successful engineer along with how to communicate with my peers. I was able to put my communication and organizational skills into practice. Before this, I received the Congressional Award. This is the highest award for young Americans, which requires organization, community service, and leadership. Right now, I am taking design courses in my field of study in which I am improving my creativity, problem-solving, team building, and organizational skills.
