"I have learned you are never too small to make a difference." - Greta ThunbergAs a full-time student, honing my expertise in persuasion, leadership, and service is of the upmost importance to me. I am passionate about pursing a degree in Communications, as I am skilled in debate, public speaking, and rhetoric to properly express my ideas to others and inspire them to do the same. This couples well with my asian studies minor and interest in learning different languages which allows me to communicate with a broader audience. I also have a minor in nature-based recreation to pursue my passion for environmental justice. My focus has always been on people -- be it customer service, mission work, education, or teamwork, I am a builder of my community. In years past, I have worked multiple retail jobs that have specialized in personalized attendance to our customers as well as clubs that have allowed me to serve as the conduit of social change that I strive to be. As the founder of the Fridays for Future chapter here in Auburn, AL, Teaching Assistant to Dr. Tingting Wang in the Chinese department at Auburn University, and Vice President of the Feminists at Auburn club, I have found joy in simply talking to people and learning from them as they hopefully learn from me. My current plan is to pursue a career that utilizes my communication and language skills in a manner that promotes diplomacy and environmental justice. The steps I am taking to reach this goal include studying abroad in Taiwan for the summer, interning under Dr. Kelly Dunning in her Conservation Governance Lab, and finally graduating in Spring 2023.
