I was the team leader and academic coordinator for the UNISOFT team, my university's official representation for Microsoft's Imagine Cup competition in 2011 and 2012.We formed and gathered highly qualified students from the information engineering department of the university and set out to form the first academic program focused on participating in the world-renowned student technological competition from Microsoft: the Imagine Cup.With a solid background in Models of United Nations, we developed a virtual presence software dedicated to emulate the United Nations' debate procedures in order to seek local, regional and international student involvement in solving the world's toughest problems in a collaborative way, defeating social, economic and political barriers and enabling thousands of students around the globe to get involved in those issues, specially aimed towards the UN's Millennium Development Goals.We qualified as national finalists twice in the competition and we were able to cause a significant impact in developing new and exciting technological academic endeavors within our university and leaving a legacy for fellow students to keep participating in such an interesting and wonderful competition.
