I graduated with Distinction in MSci Forensic and Medical Sciences from the University of Bradford, an achievement that solidified my commitment to excellence and continuous learning in scientific research and analysis.During my time at the University of Bradford, I undertook a research project internship that provided me with invaluable hands-on experience and honed my analytical and problem-solving skills. Following my graduation, I began my professional career as a Quality Control Analyst at Coopervision Ltd. In this role. This position allowed me to develop a keen eye for detail and a robust understanding of industry standards and regulations. Subsequently, I worked as a Laboratory Technician at BBI Solutions, where I further expanded my technical expertise. Here, I was involved in a variety of laboratory tasks, from routine testing, supporting research and development projects, and maintaining the smooth operation of the laboratory environment. Currently, I am in the first year of my PhD in Pharmacy, where I am deeply immersed in cutting-edge research. My doctoral studies have equipped me with extensive experience in advanced techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, FTIR, polymerization, and purification of polymers. These skills are essential for my research, allowing me to explore new frontiers in pharmaceutical sciences and contribute to innovative solutions in drug development and delivery systems. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have recently joined PEVITAC as a Research Technician. In this role, I am responsible for providing high-quality technical support for both research and commercial activities. My work involves conducting physiochemical, ex vivo, and invertebrate tests and analyses. This position not only allows me to apply my extensive knowledge and skills in a practical setting but also enables me to collaborate with a team of dedicated researchers and professionals who are at the forefront of scientific innovation.

I carry out the completion of quality and batch records.Performing quality control testing such as electrophoresis techniques e.g. ELISA and SDS,Lowry, optical density, RID, etc are crucial. Preparation and use of columns, buffers andreagents are essential in my role. Calibrating and operating key laboratory equipment whichcomplies with BBI’s quality system requirements are also vital. Completing daily cleaningchecks and ensuring I maintain my individual training records is fundamental. Research AnalystMrc/Urvi Dec 2020 - Apr 2021UgandaI was honoured to work in a BSL3 laboratory under GMP conditions, as a research internunder the MRC/UVRI and LSHTM Research Unit in Uganda. The research project wasassociated with local hospitals where our samples were collected via post mortem study.Immunity against M.tb is localised at the site of infection, the lungs. Lung draining lymphnodes and bone marrow have also been shown to contain TB specific memory cells. TheTBPM study aimed to compare lung immune cells in active TB, against those in latent TBand those uninfected individuals using flow cytometry. However, analysis by flow cytometryis only possible for single cell suspensions, whereas cells in tissues only occur in an extracellular matrix. Therefore, these cells must first be released from the extra cellular matrix intoa single cell suspension. In order to isolate individual cells from the lung tissue, the tissueswere dissociated enzymatically and physically to liberate the cells from the extra cellular matrix. Enzymatic dissociation was achieved using a digestion mixture which containsCollagenase D and DNase I which digest extra cellular matrix and DNA respectively. Themixture was physically dissociated using a GentleMacs and passed through a sieve to obtaina single cell suspension. The suspension is purified to remove RBCs and non-mononuclearcells. PBMCs in the TBPM study were isolated from blood samples by density centrifugationusing lymphoprep as a cell separation medium for recovery of mononuclear cells. IsolatedPBMCs were used in subsequent analysis for cell surface staining, intracellular staining, etc.The remaining cells will be used for further studies.

Qc AnalystCoopervision Apr 2019 - Oct 2020United KingdomA QC Analyst’s role is mainly shaped around testing raw and incoming materials plusfinished products according to the appropriate specifications, test methods and GMPconditions. The usage of HPLC, Refractometer, Auto-titrators, pH meter, osmometer etc areall pivotal parts of this role. At CooperVision I visually inspect the media filled for microbialgrowth whilst primarily performing in process checks on bulk products both pre and postfiltration whenever necessary. I ensure that all laboratory equipment for example theOsmometer, Viscometer, Auto-titrators, etc is routinely calibrated and is in good workingorder alongside recording all results as per cGMP standards. I also prepare and maintain arange of standard solutions and bench reagents for example Manoxol, Diphenyl-carbazide,Molybdovanadic reagent, etc, used in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of incomingsamples, within the cGLP framework. Furthermore, meeting statutory, regulatory andcustomer requirements, within GCLP and AQC framework, is one of our main objectives as acompany.
