I am a husband, father, entrepreneur, and investor who enjoys building things from scratch, connecting dots, selling, and scaling (preferably in more antiquated industries). I love ideating and big picture thinking, but also crave detail and operational excellence. As a follower of Jesus, my mission is to trust God, serve others, and embrace gratitude in all things. I am by no means batting 1.000, but this is the north star. In my experience, people are everything, and sparks fly when your focus is on unlocking the intrinsic value in others.I am currently co-founder, ceo at vinny, where we're on a mission to equip the recreational vehicle industry with the tools it needs to foster human flourishing outdoors. I also enjoy volunteering as an advisor to the Loneliness Institute, mentoring at Techstars and Capital Factory, and managing System Ventures, a speciality investment vehicle for family and friends. Most recently, I was an advisor at R-LABS, a real estate venture builder in Toronto, Canada and a co-founder at Attunely, a venture-backed, machine-learning-powered decisioning engine for the revenue recovery industry. Prior to founding Attunely, I was a spinout lead at Pioneer Square Labs (PSL), a startup studio and early-stage venture capital firm in Seattle where I learned from some of the smartest, most authentic humans I’ve ever met. While there, I led the firm's efforts to launch Jet Closing, Boundless, and Attunely, while killing off several other ideas. Before PSL, I was on the investment team at Dallas Venture Partners where I sourced and analyzed b2b investment opportunities and took on various operating roles across a portfolio of agtech, healthcare, and fintech companies. Early in my career, I started two companies in China and worked as an analyst for a venture capital firm there.I hold dual BA degrees in History and Philosophy from the University of Colorado, Boulder, an advanced studies degree in Mandarin Chinese from Tsinghua, and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. I live in Austin, TX with my heroic wife and two kids.
