This is a fresh bite of the apple that allowed me to indulge my curiosity in technology and creativity to make something new and exciting that will benefit the world of entertainment.

When Sony Pictures launched in India in 1995 I was the founding CFO, but took over as COO in a year when the founding CEO left and within the first two years of that the company was about to be written off by the main shareholder like another competitor HOME TV when due to the blessings of the almighty and my lucky karma the company turned around and I was made CEO . Today it is a huge brand in India and one of the more profitable entertainment enterprises.Leading a talented team we built a powerhouse Indian media company over the next 12 years.-- Created the IPL with BCCI-- Brought to TV memorable shows such as BigBoss, Jassi, CID, Indian Idol and Boogie Woogie-- Launched TV channels Sony Max, Sony Pix-- Acquired Sab-- Created the One Alliance with Discovery Networks-- Placed shares of the Company with a valuation of US$2.5bn (2001)-- Mentored Over 12 colleagues to become CEOs throughout the media worldToday the company boasts of a billion USD in revenue and 44 tv channels ,a streaming service and a film and TV studio. I am humbled by this experience and forever grateful for the opportunities it brought me. It felt like I was chosen to make it successful because all the people, events and energy around me were positive and supportive.

Joined as Finance Manager. Promoted to Group CFO 1990, and oversaw the Mattel Toys JV for India. We also carried out two public offerings in the Group, and assisted in two takeovers: one of a luggage industry competitor and another in the capital goods industry. Raised a number of structured borrowings and serviced all assets.

Joined as a management trainee and was posted at Koraput. Took study leave for two years to finish PhD at IIM Calcutta (as a Fellow). Rejoined in 1981 at Barrackpore and transferred to Nasik one year later.
