I lead a PM group responsible for bringing 350 million devices online everyday worldwide via various wireless technologies. This team serves as the cloud networking fabric for Windows and Windows Phone devices.• I own defining the vision, strategy, roadmap and execution plan partnering with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders – role includes driving frequent President and Sr. leadership team checkpoints.• Shipped multiple versions of Smart Wi-Fi services for Windows devices, Cell Data /MVNO projects for Windows and IoT, Location Services, Network Operator integrations, Founding PM Leader for Data Marketplace - PAYG data through Windows Store and Microsoft SIM.• On the business side, it involves prospecting and signing deals with OEM’s, Wi-Fi and Cellular Operators and service provider companies, identifying and investing in telecom and wireless opportunities.• On the technical side, my team is responsible for relevant artifacts like Functional Specs, 1 Pagers, project schedules, Partner API contracts and other relevant artifacts during agile execution. • The role offered me extensive breadth and depth in Business, User Experiences and Technology. I interfaced with Voice of Customer groups, industry bodies, OEM partners like Dell, Lenovo, HP and Leading Mobile Operators in NA, EMEA and APAC.

I owned the End to End scenarios related to downloads of various products and files from the company’s flagship Download Center Portal and contributed heavily to Microsoft.com• I was tasked with designing and shipping v2 of 10-year-old legacy sites and services. The new stack handled 3.5 billion downloads from 65 mill visitors over 108 locales per month worldwide. • PM driver in multiple high stakes v-teams cross group: downloads from tax favorable locations which resulted in $1Billion/yr. in tax advantages, Security Patch Tuesday Downloads every month, Win 7 launch downloads and Bill Gates sponsored Dreamspark.com which allows students to download MS products.• This role allowed me deep technical depth in Edge delivery, running full stack services like fulfillment, catalogs, reporting and web analytics, working with a new CMS, collaborating with over 3000 PM’s in Microsoft across 10 product groups, and top 2 CDN partners while helping build our own Azure CDN.

Engineer on the core infra team that provide Microsoft services with solutions for scale-out, high availability, manageability of SQL, File Storage and web services for MSN Search/Bing, MSN Messenger and Hotmail. • Developer responsible for Feature planning, design specs, implementation and production ownership of very high scale services.• Handpicked by VP to go work on foundational layers of MS’s internal cloud, Autopilot, in the pre-cloud era: Lights Out manageability, automated server management, server farm self-healing, performance monitoring and alerting, v1 of Microsoft’s Big Data clusters (Cosmos).• I also got my first experience of managing MS Developers, fulltime on-shore and vendors offshore.• As an engineer out of grad school, this was a very exciting phase where I got to learn a lot of cool tech, imbibe MS values, learn key scale lessons and finally, build a friend network of solid engineers for life.
