I partner with IES Abroad's executive leadership to support risk prevention and mitigation as a third party study abroad provider. I coach our students with medical and behavioral health needs to ensure that they are prepared for long-term travel. I collaborate to mitigate risk through pre-trip preparation and education. I interact with international onsite staff as needed to answer health concerns. I monitor trends in healthcare and travel medicine, while also tracking global health issues and crises and their potential impact on our students. I serve as a subject matter expert on health-related topics and situations. Position was paused due to travel restrictions with Covid-19 Pandemic.

Working with New Century Health to support team of 60+ nurses in specialty utilization management. I have restructured the nurse training program to scale onboarding and continued professional development with a focus on quality and productivity. I have innovated scheduling for our nurses to cover operations 7 days/week and 365 days/year while also building a balanced work culture that promotes work-life balance and relationship-building on fully remote teams. I collaborated to stand up denials operations this year for growing client base. I am looking forward in 2021 to partnering with leadership to consider how we can better leverage technology and AI to support more efficient and compliant operations. I support our team through the use of change management practices to create consensus and agency as we encounter the many changes and innovations related to a fast-paced and dynamic work culture.

My mission is to support and grow our unique care management model, which is transforming the health and self-efficacy of our patients, reaching the most impactable patients at the right time with the right level of care and education. My teams of nurses, health educators, and community health workers work directly with our most complex Medicaid members to promote self-management and positive health outcomes. We focus on the whole person by supporting their social needs, as well as their medical and behavioral health, respecting the dignity of each of our members while supporting the health of populations.

I partner with providers and practices to transform and align processes to support value based care. The future of our nation's healthcare depends on focusing our administrative and clinical resources on maximizing clinical performance, while mitigating both clinical and financial risk. I am privileged to have the opportunity to bring my background in clinical process improvement, primary care management, and change management to our valued client and partner relationships to support sustainable, high quality healthcare for the MCO and partnered provider groups.

I managed the daily operations and flow of 2 clinics for 10 multispecialty healthcare providers, developing and managing clinical and customer service-based systems and processes. I built and supervised highly functional and well-trained clinical and administrative teams. I initiated and participated in clinical quality improvement projects addressing clinical processes and accreditation. I served as the Project Manager annually for the university’s flu shot campaign, increasing flu shot rates by 483% over 8 years. I served the students/patients directly through my functions as the clinic’s triage nurse, behavioral care manager, and travel health nurse. As Director of Student Health, I have also served as the infection preventionist, maintaining compliance to CDC and OSHA guidelines, as well as assisting with investigation and management of outbreaks and epidemics/pandemics affecting the campus community. I was privileged to chair and/or serve on 7 university committees addressing mental health, emerging infectious diseases, emergency planning, and study abroad. I was awarded the 2009 UofL Community Engagement Award for my work with the H1N1 Pandemic Work Group. Through my interdisciplinary work related to depression and suicide prevention, I was named a Co-Principle Investigator on the 2015 University of Louisville SAMHSA Suicide Prevention Grant.
