I started at the company when we were called McGuffie Brunton in 1998. As it is in many companies we have gone through various transitions and changes and we are now K3 Syspro, part of the K3 GroupI first started in the accounts department dealing with customer contracts, supplier purchasing and I was also involved in our ISO accreditation. The varying aspects of this role required me to be detail orientated, making sure paperwork was drawn up, purchase orders were chased and directed to the right department once delivered, and it also meant liaising with all other departments within the businessIn 2003 I was recruited into application support, what we do here is difficult to describe, essentially we help our customers achieve their business needs using Syspro and the K3 fleet of products. The role is challenging, it often requires us to juggle multiple queries and prioritise issues on the fly all while making sure we see queries through to their conclusion. We are able to achieve this by working as a team, we rely on each other to cover the entire skill set required to do this job

I first started at Gallery as the assistant to the Purchasing Manager. Ordering, the Components, labels, cartons boxes and stands for the cosmetic range. I had to ensure that we had the stock, when required and ensure that we didn't overstock. I was also responsible for proofing the designs of the labels, bottles and components.I then moved over to Stock Controller. Ensuring that we had a rolling stock take of all items.I was also responsible for forecasting the amount of goods we would be selling and hence the number of components and raw material we required to complete the order. At this stage the forecasting was a manual process. I also took the responsibility ti train the new members of staff, on the system we had in place.

Working for a Company as large as GUS, at the time, had it's own challenges. I started as a customer Service Clerk, looking after a nominated amount of customers. Answering their queries, dealing with goods they needed to return and if necessary give them a gentle reminder that they had a balance due. GUS, had the policy to prompt from within, and I was able to take advantage of this, by moving into the Stock Control department. I dealt with Camera,Watches and various Bric a Brac. Working there gave me the ability to multi-task, change direction quickly and an ability to organise my working day.
