Based three years in China working on local finance compliance and liaising globally with Internal Audit for the Marine Sector. This involved finalising Internal Audit plans, reviewing reports, supporting business in resolving issues and liaising between the business and the Internal Audit Department to ensure all actions are closed in a timely manner.Based in India for two years. Maintained responsibility for Internal Audit. New responsibility included improving the controls environment in Marine by creating and implementing a global Finance Governance Review Process. This included Balance Sheet and Statutory Accounts Review.Returned to UK in January 2017. Took on additional duties to include control of the Sector Delegated Authority, the roll out of Internal Controls Framework in the Marine Sector (lead by Plc) and the involvement in the Sector Audit Committee. In mid-2018, took over responsibility for Marine Risk Process and Sector Audit Committee.Secretary of Marine Sector Audit committee (three time per year), which involved the preparation and distribution of the audit committee papers, minutes and actions. Areas covered included reporting of Financial Statements, Internal Controls, Risk, Internal, External Audit, Ethics and Legal.I was responsible in the Marine Sector for Internal Controls and Risk and reported status in these areas to the Marine Sector Audit Committee, functionally to Rolls Royce PLC and internally to the Marine business via the quarterly governance meetings (Risk & Finance Compliance). I continued to be the main point of contact in the Marine Sector for Internal Audit and one of the main points of contact for the External Auditors. I facilitated the agreement of audit plans and the introduction of new corporate auditors in 2018 by leading the introduction visits to sites (Norway)

Rolls Royce has three Finance Service Centres (FSC) - UK, North America and Singapore. Most of Rolls Royce's transactional processing is performed within one of these FSC's. I manage the interface for the service delivery between the Civil Aerospace / Gas Turbine Service business and the global FSC’s. Responsibilities include agreeing Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), with the Finance Directors and monthly presentation of the actual performance. 20% of time is spent on routine month to month activities. 40% of time is spent resolving problems and queries and implementing process improvement based on this. 30% of work involves the programme management of business migrations into the FSC. Currently, I am responsible for three major. In addition, there are a number of smaller task migrations from the business to the FSC due to the adoption of a new finance model. It is my responsibility to identify and facilitate these migrations and agree the charge for the service.Ad hoc duties include (10% of time) staff development, professional boarding’s, preparing technical update for finance analysts, external audit interface for government levy charges and agreement of FSC Business Continuity Plan with Rolls Royce businesses.

Responsible for the multicurrency Accounts Payable Ledgers (10 staff) of all companies with the NBTY Europe Group and the Management Accounts function (4 qualified/part qualified accountants). Supervise the preparation of P&L accounts for 1000 stores in the UK, Eire and Holland. Ad hoc duties include investment cost/benefit analysis, budgeting , forecasting, cost savings initiatives, system documentation and Sarbanes and External Audit requirements. The major focus of ad hoc working has been on cost reductions and improving reporting within the business to ensure that financial reports are understood, and are used as a sound basis for decision making.

Directly responsible for the central finance function (4 people) and functionally responsible for 3 qualified accountants and their staff. Report directly to the Director of Naval Marine Operations.Principle functional duties include maintaining the integrity of the finance systems, supervision of all General Ledger activities, monthly presentation of financial performance to Naval Marine Executive, the review and presentation of Budgets and Forecasts, interfacing with external audit and driving ad hoc projects as identified by the Management team. As a member of the Operations Management team, involved in the defining the strategy and policy of the business units that fall within the Operations division. This has included the drafting of business cases to support major investment, and redundancy programmes presented at RR Plc Board level.More specialist duties include negotiating hourly rates with the MoD, and being a member of the Operations HS&E Board.
