Courage Medicine is a non-profit focused on providing full spectrum primary care and specialty services to patients with addictions, mental illness, and trauma. We offer medication assisted treatment and recovery-oriented psychotherapy to our patients. We also offer harm reduction services, testing and treatment of hepatitis, HIV, and other infections, and psychiatric medication management. Dr. Acri is a family physician and has offices in Philadelphia and Bucks County. We also provide mobile services to our patients in Kensington, Philadelphia.

The mission is to promote health, empowerment, and safety for families affected by drug use, mental illness, and poverty in the Philadelphia region. Courage Medicine is focused on providing mobile care in neighborhoods like Kensington that have been hard hit by the opioid and covid epidemics.The agency provides whole person and whole family primary care and behavioral health treatment integrated into a unique set of evidence-based interventions including Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder. In addition, Courage Medicine offers harm reduction services and screening plus treatment for HIV, Hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted infections. People living with opioid addiction, severe mental illness, HIV, viral hepatitis, complex trauma, homelessness, chronic pain, and other related conditions are engaged with messages of hope and personal responsibility so they can achieve health and happiness. An office space on Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia serves as the central hub for all clinical operations.

I am an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and family doctor at Temple University School of Medicine. I split my time between teaching medical students and residents, seeing patients, and doing research.
