I was born in Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, British Columbia and I currently live in the North Shore; therefore, I have extensive knowledge of the Kamloops area and resources available to individuals residing here. I went to Westmount Elementary School and then went to Westsyde Secondary School. I majored in Accounting and participated in a work-study program, going to school and working part-time for Wright and Company on the North Shore in Kamloops, BC. After graduating from high school, I moved to Vancouver and stayed at the Vancouver General Hospital Nurses Dormitory for eleven months while I went to Trend College, a business school in New Westminster, British Columbia. During my eleven month stay, I achieved two diplomas simultaneously - Executive Office Administration Diploma and Business Information Processing Diploma. I then returned to Kamloops where my family and home is. I have worked in retail, sales, and customer service until I acquired a spinal cord injury and spent the next year rehabilitating in Royal Inland Hospital and then in GF Strong Rehabilitation Center in Vancouver. After completing my stay, I returned once again to Kamloops where I plan to stay. When back in Kamloops, I entered the Vocational Rehabilitation Program and started attending TRU until the completion of my Bachelor of Social Work Degree specializing in Child Welfare in Canada. Since and during that time I have taken many personal awareness and personal development workshops which I enjoy immensely and I seek to be in an advisory position in an educational, academic, or employment setting. As part of my degree, I particularly enjoyed psychology and the human personality. I am in the unique position of being a service user of social systems in Kamloops, especially in the areas of income assistance, disability supports and programs, employment programs, academic programs at TRU (especially at the disability services office) as well as many other systems of our social fabric in Canada. I have formed the Student Awareness of Disabilities Committee at TRU. I have appeared multiple times on local news. I have spoken several times on CBC Radio regarding local issues. I excel at public speaking and have spoken at most the Elementary School students in Kamloops about diversity, inclusion, accessibility and adaptability (I have spoken to thousands of students). I am a market research analyst. I have conducted telephone feedback surveys.
