In my role as an Administrative Assistant in the DSL, I developed and managed an Excel-based inventory tracking system to streamline lab material management and boost operational efficiency. I also coordinated the design, budgeting, and communications for custom merchandise orders. I performed extensive research on sustainable, local, and cost effective vendors to create orders for custom apparel, stickers, flash-drives, and banners. I ensured that all orders were ordered on time and met project specifications.

As a Resident Advisor for the Leadership Living Learning Community at Syracuse University, I mentor 27 first-year students, offering both personal and academic support while enforcing the Student Code of Conduct. I have worked foster a strong sense of community by facilitating one-on-one check-in meetings and group events, such as a floor mocktail hour and Halloween costume contest, to encourage resident engagement. I also collaborate closely with campus offices, including student living, campus security, and facilities, to provide well-rounded support and ensure a safe, supportive environment for my residents.

This past summer, I grew into a family administrative assistant position with more responsibilities than my previous role as a nanny. I was responsible for duties such as schedule management, mailing and tracking packages, and organization. I collaborated with the parents to manage the child's calendar and register for various summer camps and workshops, organized play dates, and oversaw the completion of summer homework requirements. I also accompanied the family for two weeks of overseas travel to Placencia, Belize. There, I organized activities for six children between ages 4-8, took part in planning itineraries for three families, helped maintain and transport boating equipment, and implemented appropriate water safety measures.

As a Skills Win Coach, I lead weekly site sessions for about 50 students at the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central (ITC) and 12 Police Cadets at Onondaga Community College. As a Site Manager, I designed and prepared lesson materials for PSLA@ Fowler high school to impart essential life and professional skills. I also maintain communication with Fowler teachers, coaches and volunteers to ensure that site sessions run smoothly. From typing and email etiquette to Excel and budgeting, Skills Win helps equip students with tools that will support their academic journeys and future careers. I hope to contribute to creating a learning environment where students feel empowered.

This role involved caring for children aged 1-12 throughout the day and evening by preparing meals, engaging them in activities, and helping with their routines from playtime to bedtime. I also supported their academic needs, assisting with school and summer homework and encouraging reading. Each day, I facilitated creative activities like games, crafts, and pretend play, as well as trips to local pools and parks to keep them active and entertained.

Over the summer, I worked under Professor Bill Coplin to research, copy edit, and begin publishing 5 articles related to skills education. I also contributed to a 200-source annotated bibliography of various newspaper and peer-reviewed research articles in support of skills education in K-12 and higher education institutions. I greatly value Professor Coplin's skills-based educational approach, and this experience strengthened my professional communication skills.

As a Course Assistant for Policy Studies 101, I collaborated with a team of 18 UCAs, professor, and a course administrator to support approximately 100 students taking the course. I provided targeted academic assistance to a group of five students, graded 4-7 papers per unit with detailed feedback, and developed a comprehensive spreadsheet to track attendance, participation, and grades. Additionally, I led the internal grade training for Module 1 and evaluated the professor’s initial six lectures to enhance the course's effectiveness.

Over the summer, I worked on a short-term project with FOCUS Syracuse to update and revise three chapters of the Onondaga County Patterns of Government Community Report, which is used to educate citizens on local government functions. This required intensive and detailed research on education, local government financing, and public safety in Onondaga County. This experience was meaningful in my journey to learn more about Syracuse and how I can give back to this community.

As Editor in Chief, I oversaw a team of editors and reporters, taking charge of finalizing written and video content for our digital publication and print magazine. I provided constructive feedback to reporters on their content, supported the publication staff by building strong interpersonal connections, and maintained regular communication with our advisor. In this role, I also focused on fostering a collaborative and productive work environment to ensure high-quality work and smooth operations.
