I founded and led this first of a kind certificate program in applied AI in healthcare for clinical, research and business leaders in healthcare. The course explains AI/ML from first principles and enable decision makers in healthcare, who typically come from clinical or business backgrounds, with this understanding to determine how AI fits into their organizational strategy, what to focus on and whether to build, buy or borrow. There is significant emphasis on when AI goes wrong, necessary foundational investments and generalizability concerns in keeping with our recent research in these areas. The faculty have extensive practical experience in developing and scaling AI solutions in healthcare and represent leading providers, payers, life sciences orgs, investors and pioneers from the large and small tech sectors including Google, Microsoft, Humana, HSPH, MIT and Wellframe. In the first year, the course had double the previous record for enrolled students and positive feedback. Alum of the program lead healthcare organizations and health systems across the world - representing 22 countries and 12 time zones.

As the Healthcare Expert in Residence I mentor student teams across the Harvard graduate schools and the college. Focus is on "zero to one problems" of defining sustainable tech advantage, defining market opportunity, developing commercial value proposition and team building. Aim of the program is to support students in learning the tools and process of entrepreneurship and to translate their ideas into successful independent commercial ventures that can improve quality, experience and costs.

I co-founded Wellframe and have served as Chief Medical Officer, Chief Innovation Officer and Board Director from inception in 2012 to acquisition by Blackstone/Health Edge in 2021. I invented the clinical model, the translation of the model into a software platform and the visual identity and design language for the products and for the company as a whole. In addition I created our proprietary approach to representing clinical knowledge programmatically which underpins Wellframe's unique ability to deliver clinically valid, personalized and adaptive care at scale and in so doing create a unique data asset that enables a virtuous cycle of growth. This approach is described in the patent "a method and apparatus for improving compliance for a therapeutic regimen." I built and led the clinical, product, design, consumer experience and data science teams - starting each of these teams and hiring professional managers to scale them. I was jointly responsible for developing Wellframe's business strategy and ensuring it's implementation through the strategic leadership team as well as leading the development of new initiatives across core technology, products and services and their incorporation into the core Wellframe model through developing the business case, building management teams and running agile development processes. I am currently an adviser to the company and work 1/1 with the CEO and CTO. My current areas of focus are developing and executing AI strategy across products and services and managing strategic relationships across industry and academia.

sana.mit.eduI was a founder and the clinical lead for this MIT research group developing open source cellphone based technology to improve the reach and quality of primary care services in developing countries. I worked with an inspiring group of MIT and Harvard clinicians, engineers and academics as well as a distributed global network of national and local governments, health delivery organizations and volunteers united in the vision that primary healthcare is important and can be improved, even in resource constrained settings, through informed use of technology. Our projects were supported by MIT, Google, the UN foundation, the Vodafone foundation, the government of Karnataka (India), the government of Brazil and the GSM Alliance.

I was a partner in a primary care practice providing comprehensive adult, paediatric and women's health services to 7500 patients. The practice has 3 full time doctors and 3 full time nurses and a support staff of 20. We are proud to consistently achieve 95-100% in practice performance measurements as part of the Quality and Outcome's framework for chronic disease management and practice administration. I am currently on sabbatical. I hold full GMC registration and am on the NW London Performers List.
