Co FounderThe Craig Springsteen Memorial Foundation Oct 2008 - PresentMorayfield Qld AustraliaOn 3 October 2007 our lives changed forever. On that date my husband and I lost our only son to suicide. Craig was only 23. Not only did we lose a son but a sister lost a brother, a grandmother a grandchild, aunt and uncles a nephew, cousins a cousin and friends a friend.Craig was only just starting to live his life - he left behind friends,family and memories but no child. Struggling through the grief and trying to understand, without much success, why such a thing had occurred the one thing that kept coming into my mind was - please please don't let his name be forgotten. Please please remember a wonderful man - a wonderful son, a wonderful brother, a wonderful friend.So out of this burning desire for Craig to be remembered has arisen this Foundation in memory of Craig. The founding of this foundation is one of the reason for my passion for my business and my passion for communication. Without my experience as a speaker and effective communication skills I would never have been able to deliver the eulogy at Craig's funeral and give due testament to his life. The aim ultimately is for the Foundation to provide 3 scholarships per year - one for someone starting University to get them on the way in their education, one for a young entrepreneur or inventor to help them with their dream and one for a Demolay member to assist them in education. Our Foundation is growing - it is not quite there where we can start awarding our scholarships but it will be. Recently we were humbled to receive a donation of $1000 from a group of people who are all very much involved in fulfilling their dreams and passions - this donation was collected by my mentor who is currently helping me to fulfill my business dreams.
