Trish Tchume is a first generation Ghanaian-American, a social and racial justice advocate, storyteller, facilitator and trainer. She currently serves as the Senior Director of Leadership Research & Practice//Sterling Network Organizer for the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation in NYC.She has spent most of her professional career in network and leadership development including her time as the director of Leadership Development at the Center for Community Change and as the Network Coordinator for Within Our Lifetime: a Network to End Racism. Prior to that, Trish served as the first executive director of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and director of Civic Engagement for the Building Movement Project. Over the course of her more than 20 years in the sector, she has worked with numerous organizations across the country of diverse size, mission, structure and staffing to facilitate deep and engaging organizational change processes. Trish has a Masters in Education and has been published in the Huffington Post, the Stanford Social Innovation Review, and the Nonprofit Quarterly, along with many other publications. She is also the co-author of Calling In and Up: a Leadership Pedagogy for Women of Color Organizers.

Additionally, she led strategic planning and communications alignment processes that clarified YNPN’s intended impact and more firmly centered equity, diversity, and inclusion in the mission and programming of the organization. Stewarded the network through the structural and cultural transformation accompanying the rapid growth of the network from 27 to 42 chapters in less than 4 years, and during the same period, grew the network and organizational support from staff of 1 to a team of 3 FT staffers and 4 PT Fellows, governed by a newly restructured board and Chapter Congress, and developed an effective fundraising strategy to support this expansion. She established YNPN's first-ever individual donor base and increased the organization's funding partners from 2 champion foundations in 2011 to 12 mission & values/aligned foundations just 4 years later, growing the organizational budget from >$75K to almost $500k.During her tenure, Trish expanded the research capacity and raised the profile and influence of the network via strategic partnerships with think tanks and media outlets such as Building Movement Project, Nonprofit Quarterly, Grassroots Fundraising Journal, and Chronicle of Philanthropy. She served as YNPN’s ambassador and representative with partners and numerous national coalitions and campaigns aimed at sharing current promising practices and the sector’s future for leadership development and social justice. -
