Part of the new build team for SSCV Sleipnir, on site at the Singapore Yard.Witnessing commissioning and attending training by vendors on the spot with the newly delivered equipment.Culminating in Sea trials, DP trials and maiden voyage before starting the first project.Getting knowledge of the vessel and its systems, on one hand, and preparing the planned maintenance system in Infor EAM via Excel, together with building a tree structure of equipment from scratch following company protocol and yard documents.Getting acquainted with all the new and top of the line equipment via document review of design philosophies, PTO’s, VCD’s, drawings, 3D models and manuals. Trainings from manufacturers and courses in LNG.Cooperating together with the office and yard based personnel for this project to review and create documents needed for the construction, commissioning and eventual operation of the vessel.This all to achieve operational readiness together with a small team of technical, nautical and logistical fleet personnel, all seconded to this project.

Leiden

Part of the new build team for SSCV Sleipnir. Working from the Leiden office. Second engineer on SSCV Thialf, which was the largest SSCV at that time.Watchkeeping duties around thrusters, engine rooms, auxiliary rooms, accommodation and deck, routine operation of all equipment.Maintenance and repair of machinery: power generation, propulsion, purifiers, compressors, pumps, life-saving equipment, HVAC, elevators, galley equipment, sewage, and the like.General fault finding and troubleshooting of machinery. Commissioning new, and decommissioning old equipment.Assisting on deck with projects. Maintenance and operation of hydraulic piling hammers (from 270 kJ to 3500kJ), hydraulic pile handling equipment, wire spoilers, main cranes, crawler cranes and forklifts.Offshore marine contracting projects such as: decommissioning of old oil rigs, installing new platforms by placing jackets, topsides, bridges and flare booms. Laying anchor arrangements and mooring lines for floating structures.Drafting and issuing permits to work and Lockout / tag out certificates. (EVision Permit Vision)Administrating planned and corrective maintenance in the work order database (Infor EAM)Supervising and toolboxing oiler, machinist, and mechanic teams. Occasionally riggers, welders and electricians as well. People from various nationalities, mostly Asian and European.

Second apprentice period. 5 months of nautical and technical graduation.-Technical paper topic; "How to deal with the phase out of several refrigerants on board of the Thialf" Researching the possibilities and challenges of the Montréal convention, in relation to the refrigerants used on board. Mostly R11 and R22 equipment.-Nautical paper topic; "Safety first" Describing in depth the safety culture and policies within HMC
