Lead product manager for US Federal vertical for Knox, Samsung’s defense-grade mobile security suite. Had overall responsibility for federal product offerings, ranging from establishing high-level goals like total deployment times, to generating specific requirements for technical features. Met directly with numerous federal customers, including FBI, DISA, SPAWAR, SOCOM, and Dep. VA.• Lead product manager for metrics, with overall responsibility for data-collection features, data analytics, dashboarding, reporting, and metrics-driven goals.• Redesigned all Knox data-collection systems as part of a year long overhaul and consolidation of legacy analytics features.• Designed security threat model for all metrics features and systems, including generation of specific, verifiable security claims.• Point of contact for SPAWAR (Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command) for their cooperative research project with Samsung into new cryptographic technologies. Delivered working prototype derived from primary research.

Performed primary product validation research for new R&D concept products, including customer interviews, market analysis, and technical validation. Designed MVP prototype test products and lead Scrum teams during early development. Restructured AOL Membership R&D testing guidelines to eliminate waste and improve accuracy of A/B testing.• Constructed a fully functional “Wizard of Oz” test product for AOL’s media group which went on to become Membership R&D’s case study for low-budget MVP tests.• Completed departmental transition to the Lean Startup Canvas as the standard format for review of new product ideas.• Redesigned outdated research support systems, cutting research costs by 50% and reducing time for preliminary product research from three weeks to four days.• Taught company-wide innovation seminar series, focusing on critical thinking, Standard D-School brainstorming techniques, and data-driven product validation.

Founded Proxy Army Games to introduce commercial 3D printing technology to the hobby modeling retail space. Designed and modeled database of “bit” components for resale by third party distributors, as well as handling customer development and sales. Was hosted in the Groundworks Labs incubator as part of the American Tobacco campus. • Sold four major commercial customers within first six months of operation, including The Escapist and Domains at War.• Secured $200,000 of angel investor funding.• Exited for $120,000 after unsuccessful pivot to games retail market.• Executed all aspects of company management, operations, and financials for five employees.

Founded EcoLight to provide low-cost energy financing services to underserved markets in rural and low-income communities. Wrote Google Maps image-scraping algorithm to automatically locate structures with a high potential return on energy upgrades. Performed all aspects of company operations, from sales to designing advertising material. Directly oversaw two full employees plus ten full time contractors. Sold the company to upstream parts supplier in 2013.• Financed and secured Dartmouth College’s retrofit of the Thayer School of Engineering onto new energy-efficient lighting systems.• Designed new standardized systems for auditing client sites and monitoring performance, reducing per-client fixed costs by 70% from the then-current industry standard.• Eliminated more than 200 tons of carbon waste over two year period.

Launched and led CEECD project as a senior, continued post-graduation as a paid position. Worked with students and faculty to develop innovative ways to reduce per-capita energy costs in small towns in upstate New York via an array of high-ROI energy generation and energy efficiency investments. New technologies were implemented and financed through a series of public/private ventures and loans.

Founded and led a multidisciplinary team of students from the colleges of engineering, agriculture and business with the goal of combining engineering and horticultural techniques to optimize crop production, quality, production efficiency and resource efficiency in a commercial context.

Worked on design revision and construction of The Silo House, Cornell’s entry in the 2009 bi-annual national Solar Decathlon competition run by the U.S. Department of Energy. Silo House won 7th place.

Helped design and construct a functional, multi-segmented snake arm for use in noninvasive surgical procedures in the throat and digestive tract utilizing a base-driven guidewire system.

Successfully modified the design of a 3D home printing device for general public consumption to reduce construction time and knock $500 off the per-unit price. Built a working prototype.

Designed, programmed, and tested a computer controlled flow system for conditioning cells grown on tissue engineered vascular grafts. Programmed and tested the interface between the rheologic flow-rig and the computer for data-recording and acquisition.
