In this position, I review and respond to hundreds of real-time potential safeguarding alerts per day from school-issued devices across the UK and USA via Netsweeper’s OnGuard system. Where relevant, I contact school safeguarding teams directly to ensure that children and young people. This must all be done responsibly, sensitively, and ethically, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), GDPR, and children and young people’s rights.I also feed into product development by giving regular feedback on how systems are functioning and potential ways to improve, including by staying up to date on relevant safeguarding issues which need to be detected.

I have taken on a number of freelance projects, including editing fiction, writing and/or editing blog posts and website content, and proofreading professional reports and papers. The breadth of projects and industries I have worked with are a particular point of pride for me.In all of these cases, I adhered to the requirements and deadlines set by clients and displayed high levels of flexibility in order to do so even when these were changed mid-project. In many cases, I also conducted effective research, including into SEO keywords, and used my strong attention to detail and understanding of both grammar and writing principles to help my clients reach their goals.

In this role, I was responsible for student engagement with campaigns and EDI work. I managed the six Student Network Assistants and supported them in running their individual networks, each representing a marginalised group of students. I also assisted individual student campaigners in organising and executing effective campaigns, and collaborated with staff, students, and elected Sabbatical Officers on multiple projects, particularly around student voice and equitable education.Alongside this, I gathered information on student experience and reported on this to both the Students' Union and wider university staff. I also created and maintained resources for marginalised students using a range of tools, including SharePoint, website, and print content (e.g. flyers and booklets).

As the Peer Listening Project Coordinator, I was in charge of creating and executing the project plan to realise the vision which the Advice Centre manager had for this service. This primarily involved the training programme and supplementary resources for volunteer peer listeners, collaborating with the Samaritans and researching in-depth to ensure that training was accurate, useful, and effective. I then organised the training sessions, managing to work around the timetables of over twenty students to ensure effective scheduling and diary management. I also worked with my colleagues in the Marketing team to create materials for promotion of both the volunteer role and the service itself.
