Over the first several months following our acquisition by WebPT, I helped to smooth the transition of my team into the org structure of the new company. I helped my team to land softly into their roles in new groups. I also helped to make introductions of our external partners to the right people within the new organization. As is often the case, the acquiring company had ample management in place so I took the opportunity to exit and pursue new adventures.

• Drove adoption from 4% to 37% over three years of new browser-based EMR.• Introduced first AI-driven features, including customer research to define features.• Managed a team of product managers and a team of reliability engineers.• Coordinated and communicated (internal and external) product roadmap.• Mentored Product Managers and Support Engineers.• Oversaw transition of Product & UX as Clinicient was acquired by WebPT.

As a director of user experience and design at WebMD, my role was to ensure that our audience of 8 million users could access our WebMD database across a variety of platforms, and that our team delivered the most effective user experience possible. Duties included:• Setting strategy for successful user interactions with a health and wellness portal and related mobile applications• Leading a small team of full-time UX professionals, contractors, and agencies.• Conducting consumer research, including open-ended, usability testing, etc.• Creating and overseeing user advisory boards to inform iterative product design (participatory design)• Collaborating closely with Product Owners to prioritize feature sets (backlog)• Collaborating closely with software development teams to coordinate design-build-test-iterate process for both teams• Working within an Agile software development methodology, including rigorous A/B testing for all new features• Driving user-centered design through measurable user goals

• Doubled throughput on a time-intensive browser-based software system.• Directed a team of Product Owners and UX designers feeding a work pipeline for 34 software devs.• Led all UX efforts on a $5M project with an impressive 3.5-year positive ROI timeline.• Tested designs to ensure usability, improving overall Software Usability Score from 29% to 55%.• Used cognitive modeling software to ensure new designs would meet 50% reduction in time-on-task.

• Led research and design efforts for physician-centered overhaul of Centricity EMR.• What is a pretty UI? Designed aesthetic research to determine the visual design direction of next-gen EMR product.• Ran a panel of 120 physician and front-desk EMR users to iterate on new designs and create cohesion among disparate customers (For example, solo practitioners and large hospital systems.)• Led participatory customer design groups with physicians and other clinical users (several per week.)• Built hundreds of wireframes and storyboards to convey every aspect of new design ideas, iterating with user input.
