I believe that everyone should have equal access to mental health services. I know that everyone is capable of handling whatever life throws at them, they just need a guiding light to reach the solution.Solution Focused Therapy appeals to me, because no matter the person they do have the answer and they do have the tools to solve the difficulties of life.Listening: Is a skill that everyone is capable of, but few excel at. I know that active listening requires more than hearing just the words; it's about body language, tone of voice, emotional content. Empathy: I'm well known to those who know me as an empathetic person. Being able to feel what others feel and for those things which I haven't directly experienced I can put myself in their shoes. Reflection: There are times when a person simply needs to look upon their reflection in the lake, nothing more. Sitting in a comfortable, or uncomfortable silence is an aspect of counselling that you need to be able to handle. I have sat through more silences than I can count. I have an overwhelming passion. A passion to help people reach a state within themselves that they are happy to be. A state where they will be happy to dance in the rain. To whether the storm and stand before it beckoning it onward.
