Lead a team of engineers and technicians to evaluate competing technologies, design, scale up, and commission next generation processes to make the next generation of lithium metal anodes. Commercialize these anodes for the rechargeable battery market space.

Led the North American Customer Partnership S&T (Science and Technology) group of scientists and engineers to develop unique customer solutions that deliver performance and productivity. Design, scale-up, and commercialize non-woven products for the gypsum, ISO, flooring, and industrial markets.

Led a cross-functional project team in Eastman’s corporate innovation group to accelerate product development of polyurethane adhesives. The team’s responsibilities included chemical synthesis, product formulation and application development. • Collaborated with marketing to generate interest with multiple accounts worldwide, ranging from formulators through automotive and flexible packaging converters. • Collaborated with regulatory, product stewardship, supply chain and scale up to demonstrate commercial feasibility.

Process Engineering Manager Managed a team of process engineers to support the ISO, TPO, EPDM, Metals and Asphalt roofing businesses to improve quality, increase productivity and speed customer response. Rolled out PFMEA and CQV standards to 12 sites and taught teammates how to properly design trials, collect and analyze data. • Improved die and UV lamp capability to reduce scrap from the self-adhered TPO and EPDM line. Also increased the line speed by 20%. These activities increased annual revenue by over $3,000,000. • Led color reformulation and installation of colorimeters on 5 TPO lines to tighten color specs and defend over $50,000,000 worth of annual revenue. • Implemented Ignition human-machine interface (HMI), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and measurement execution systems (MES) industrial application platform across 7 ISO plants. • Led wet density reduction efforts across 7 ISO plants resulting in annual savings of over $16,000,000. • In addition to PE manager responsibilities I was the acting Technical Service Manager at our EPDM facility for 5 months. During that time, I de-bottlenecked a major process which is expected to increase daily production by 400,000 sq ft.

Manage high profile projects in DuPont’s electronic materials group as part of an effort to quickly respond to competitive threats.• Led a 10-person team to launch a 12-product suite of materials projected to generate over $50M in annual revenue. • Led 90-day rapid product development project to create a new solar metallization paste, enabling increased solar cell efficiency to defend over $100M in revenue.• Managed major (>$100M NPV) global research and development project using DuPont’s stage gate process. This product is now being qualified at select customers.

Developed printed electronic inks for use in a variety of current and next-generation printing technologies, including ink jet, screen printing, and emerging conformal printing technologies. Worked directly with customers to understand their needs, and translated these needs into new electronic materials for use in several industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, telecommunications, and photovoltaics. Led plant team to scale up silver powder precipitation from laboratory scale to commercial scale.

Led team to create a new technology platform for the manufacture of next-generation inks. Investigated and selected new dispersing and milling equipment, enabling a smaller and more uniform particle size distribution to improve ink jetting reliability.• New technology platform successfully launched, capturing $5 million in new annual revenue.

Led team of 5 people in new product and technology development, managing projects from initial ideation through scale up to the first commercial sales. • Collaborated with business team to develop a research proposal and work plan for the next generation of hydrophobic mortar admixture, a new product line with estimated peak sales of $60 million.• Performed DOE and polymer characterization to determine the structure-property relationship of redispersible powder polymers, allowing for rapid prototyping of new products and reducing the average development cycle time by 50%.
