About Tamara Rogić
What drives me is helping designers, innovative and creative thinkers to be in charge of the flow of their creativity. Thanks to my proven abilities of designing as well as professionally coaching design process of others, I know that when creativity is unleashed everyone wins: workplaces become more collaborative and healthy places; designers become more innovative because of the rissen level of agility and resilience; designers learn to tune in easier into the needs of their users and consequently end-users become better served. When hired as a team leader and/or independent trainer within a creative industry, I help designers making socially more sustainable environments by owning the pitfalls of their personal design processes. The result can only be that our built environment become more sustainably made and consequently also so lived.Sustainability was in the focus of my carrier from its outset. In the first part, the care for old buildings and sites was in the core of my attention, with the special interest in spatial compatibility of old and new functions. Through teaching design, I became more drawn to the questions of how people use the buildings and urban spaces.Teaching design studios and guiding students to reflect in written form on their design process for years made me interested into the nature of design process. The field of design thinking opened up for me. Design process knows number of steps each one of which knows number of pitfalls within. By observing and analyzing students' reflections on their design process I came to understand that those who are willing to explore the nature of their pitfalls, are those who can better practice the flow of their creativity, doubt less on their design ability and feel generally less or not stuck at all. My education in embodiment coach and therapist gave me on one hand the communication tools to better guide students thought their design pitfalls and on the other inventory of exercises that help students to manage the pitfalls themselves.Reflecting on their own process and needs, made students also more aware of the users' needs. Thus, getting in charge of their own design process doesn't only serve the designer but also the wider community. I see in this way that managing the design process helps at the end also to increase the social sustainability of our built environment.sustainability|city| reuse| architecture| resilience| creativity|innovation|coaching| team lead | knowledge management
