Professeur Des Cuivres, Musique De Chambre, Harmonie, Fma Et Directeur De L'Orchestre À Vents
CurrentThis is a dream job for me. The chance to teach at the same institution where I studied. I look forward to an exciting year with the students and faculty!Created in 1942, the Conservatoire was entrusted, under its enabling Act, with the mission of training talented young musicians and actors, as well as of playing an important role in artistic training in Québec.I teach in the Conservatoire system. Here students can pursue the traditional path of a Bachelor's Degree or they can work in the traditional system which is crowned by the Concours examination. The concour examination is equivalent in level to a Master's degree but an entirely different experience due to the nature of the evaluation. It is in my opinion the best training for performing musicians.Specifically I teach applied trombone, euphonium and tuba courses, orchestral excerpts seminar, various chamber music projects and brass pedagogy.I also have the luxury of beginning with my students at the beginning. This hasn't traditionally been the process in Canada but I am proud to say we will be accepting our first 8 year old. Much of this is due a wonderful invention called the pBone. A trombone made entirely of plastic that is lightweight so that younger students can start early. Also getting more projects going with our trio in residence Trio Sans Nom!-
