I'm an airframe structural design engineer. My responsibilities span from the initial conceptual design of aircraft structure through the manufacture and build process. This includes creating preliminary loft and control models, thru the 3D modeling of parts and assemblies, finishing with the support of part creation and aircraft assembly.I'm proficient in both Catia V5 and V6 for computer modeling and drafting and have experience with GD&T.I've completed designs using many materials/processes such as: composite (RTM, VARTM, prepreg), aluminum (sheetmetal, machinings, chem milling, metalbonding, extrusion), and steel/titanium structure.I've gained experience over a wide range of aircraft functions. I've been given and have completed sole design responsibilities for areas such as: pylons, strakes, elevators, landing gear, and speedbrakes. I've been a team member of numerous teams spanning the fairing, wing, empennage, and fuselage, and have spent ample time designing spars, frames, skins, ribs, doors, and stringers.
