Working with this company, I was required to travel between a number of different mine sites and towns; Fields of work ranged from the smallest lighting plant right up to the largest digging unit, some of the areas my position covered are. . . Earthmoving equipment such as, Dump trucks, excavators, shovels, dozers, loaders etc. Light vehicles such as Land Cruiser, Patrol, Navara, Hilux etc. Busses and light trucks including Isuzu, Mercedes, Volvo etc. All work carried out had to be of the highest standard to prevent breakdowns or re-work. Duties included working on heavy earthmoving equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, shovels dozers, loaders etc. All work in this field was carried out on site, some in the workshop but mostly in the pit. Work consisted heavily of diagnosing and fault finding, air conditioning and maintenance. Safe work practices were a must at all times. At that time I was on a 24hr on site call out roster which focused on fault finding and fixing quickly and efficiently to minimise downtime of machinery. Duties included working on heavy earthmoving equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, dozers, loaders etc. All work in this field was to be mine site compliant so all wiring on machines was to be concealed with harness flex, and junction boxes used where wiring needed to be joined. Safe work practices were a must at all times.
