"Troy Colbert brings over 25 years of dedicated experience serving homeless youth, youth in care, and homeless families. For the past decade, he was instrumental in providing frontline services to families in crisis with the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services. Amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Troy assumed responsibility for managing a 200-bed women’s COVID relief center, demonstrating his commitment to aiding vulnerable populations during times of need.Currently, Troy serves as the head of the Salvation Army – Shield of Hope, Emergency Homelessness Assessment and Rapid Response Center, where he plays a pivotal role in placing homeless families in shelters throughout the city of Chicago. His passion for social work is reflected in his academic pursuits; Troy holds an associate degree in social work and is actively working towards completing his Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at Asbury University."
