As one of the founders and the primary inventor, I drive Topaz's mission of creating, prototyping, and monetizing intellectual property (IP). My day to day portfolio includes managing investments, R&D, and IP development in a variety of growth areas, including: + Personalized artificial intelligence for automated content management.+ Video analytics platform for measuring crowd demographics from consumer-quality video.+ Consumer toy and game development, integrating traditional play forms and A.I. driven, on-demand digital storytelling.+ At-home toy creation kits to enrich and enhance the online delivery experiences with cardboard boxes that convert into toys for kids and pets.

I served as the COO and then CTO of the San Diego Legion, a Major League Rugby franchise and Topaz sister company. Over the first three seasons, I created the start-up operational framework and merchandise programs and the SD Legion brand and IP, which were both critical in securing a multi-million-dollar partner investment. I also pioneered the inaugural Major League Rugby Championship Match for CBS Sports Network in 2018, which drew a 1-million-person TV audience.

I helped transform the traditional company practices into one focused on modern, human-centric strategies for experience design and software development. In this role, I secured $2 million in sales attribution between 2016-2017 and designed a new self-service HR performance management system for over 10,000 employees. I also led teams of up to 35 people to research, design, and implement 10 + successful multimillion-dollar development projects for Fortune 500 companies.

I worked closely with all company departments to deliver valuable solutions to the market through behavioral and motivational design, and I helped establish a world-leading customer-centric design and business strategy practice that blossomed into a thought leadership beacon in the market. I led the design and fulfillment of the research and analysis phases for multiple software development projects across a variety of industries and created strategic guidance and prototypes for clients in collaboration with design teams to help turn their ideas into reality.

I started as a designer with Archaio, and in my nine-year career there, I was promoted to senior project manager, corporate designer, and finally, director of product development. In this role, I led the IP division and delivered thought leadership guidance and team management for the company’s design and development groups. I also oversaw all the major product development tasks — such as budget, schedule, staffing, and negotiating with recruiters — for teams of up to 15 employees.I successfully achieved three software patents while working extensively with the USPTO and led projects for clients, including Hong Kong Land, the Nevada Department of Emergency Management, and Whitney Museum of American Art and Architect of the Capital.In addition, I served as the art director for all corporate communication pieces such as logos, brochures, and collateral to ensure cohesive messaging and a human-centric design. •
