I have always found great interest in the healthcare field, and I feel this was because I was introduced to it at a young age. My mother is a nurse-midwife and a certified nurse practitioner. She is someone I have always looked up to and throughout my life I have been able to see the great things that can come from having a profession in the healthcare field from her. Because of all of this it should be to no surprise that I am a Nursing Student at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. I am also privileged enough to be apart of the St. Olaf men’s basketball team. Being a part of this team has taught me a lot of skills like time management, dedication, teamwork, and respect. I have been able to grow more of my skills through my years of being a lifeguard. These opportunities have taught me how important caring for others is and how great it feels to benefit someone besides yourself.
