I have been in the trucking industry for over 25 years, as a Business owner, General Manager, Recruiter, and Safety and Compliance Director.In 2018, I was approached by the owners of the company I was leased to, to come on board as General Manager. I was tasked with growing the fleet, improving driver morale, and driver retention, and decreasing the CSA safety score. Over the past four years, I have successfully increased the number of drivers from 8 to 78. I grew the fleet of trucks from 10 to 88 and increased the number of trailers from 15 to 120. Driver morale and turnover improved through my mentorship skills and ability to empathize with the drivers having had years of hands-on experience over the road. I was the driver's advocate in all pertinent matters. I drastically lowered the CSA safety score to the lowest in company history, decreased driver turnover from 50% to less than 5%, increased profits year over year, and lowered operating and insurance costs.
