Troy Hartzell is Managing Partner and co-founder of Evolution Capital Advisors, a boutique investment bank providing capital formation and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurial stage, emerging growth technology firms. As a successful and proven entrepreneur and investment banker, Troy has a passion for technology innovation and new venture creation. Troy has deep domain expertise and built longstanding corporate and venture capital relationships across the technology landscape leveraging over 20+ years of experience in building, financing, and selling emerging growth technology businesses. Troy executes, structures, and negotiates corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions transactions on behalf of his clients leveraging longstanding, strategic relationships within the venture and private equity community and with strategic corporate acquirors. Prior to Evolution Capital, Troy led the wireless and communications practice at Cascadia Capital, a national middle market investment bank. Prior to Cascadia, Troy was with Watershed Capital, a $200 million venture fund, where he focused on principal investments in wireless, broadband, and Internet-related companies and led the development of the firm's wireless investment strategy. Previously, Troy was co-founder and CEO of a Seattle-based, venture-backed, digital media startup that built one of the first online communities and digital advertising platforms for U.S. colleges and universities. Troy holds a B.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the University of Washington. Troy is a member of several Northwest-based angel investment groups and remains actively involved as a sponsor and contributor to the University of Washington’s Burke Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
