I worked on my PhD in Operations Research with a focus on optimization. I also worked on stochastic modeling, cardinality-constrained combinatorial problems, and multi-criteria optimization.

Boston

I studied and developed algorithms for the non-coplanar VMAT treatment plan optimization problem. I worked in C++, python, and MATLAB implementing our initial heuristic. I worked with the operations-research-oriented faculty in the radiation oncology department.

I developed algorithms to control tradeoffs between dose-volume histograms (DVHs) when replanning treatments in radiation therapy using previously-treated patient DVHs as a reference. I implemented these algorithms on GPUs using C++ and CUDA. This project was done with Medical Physics and Radiation Oncology.

I worked on several projects with my advisor. 1) Developed genetic algorithms and seeding heuristics for single-machine, multiple orders-per-job scheduling in semiconductor manufacturing. 2) Developed heuristics for loading and scheduling planes for disaster relief distribution.

Led discussion sessions twice a week and held office hours for a class of 60+ students.

Held weekly individual meetings with students to discuss their progress, college life, etc. Also taught a weekly 25-student section on study skills and surviving as an engineer.
