A new position to manage large Fire Alarm projects as part of the design build electrical team with a focus on multifamily high rise, hospitality and dormitory facilities.Management of 10-12 projects large scale fire alarm projects in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami-Dade area. Oversight of manpower, materials, schedules and financial considerations while coordinating with general contractors, owners and local AHJ's.

Assigned to design, install and improve fire alarm systems in multi-building facilities around the world, including USA, Israel, Russia, South Korea and Puerto Rico. Some sites required extensive project management and engineering. Others were pure installations. Trained a revolving construction crew in installation and site safety. • Puerto Rico Branch Office, Guyanabo, Puerto Rico: Brought in to complete the last 25% of a 10-building, 4 panel, networked fire alarm install, including startup, commissioning and functional testing. Audited the first 75% of the install for quality and continuity, then corrected all identified deficiencies by redesigning portions of the system to improve efficiency and accommodate unique building conditions. Re-trained staff, and coordinated system programming with local equipment distributor (a good portion of the communication was in Spanish).• Russia Branch Office, St. Petersburg, Russia: Assigned to organize a project to upgrade and modernize a 23-building facility, including 6-fire alarm control panels and Mass Notification. This involved learning local building codes, hiring a local engineering firm, training staff to audit his work and perform the install, procuring equipment, and finalizing the $1M+ budget proposal for the project (it was accepted). Most work was done with the aid of a Russian translator.

Combination of engineering/client relationship management position for Midwest NOTIFIER Engineered Systems Distributor (ESD) and facilities service company. Cultivated the Kansas City-based team of (up to) 10 people. Assisted sales team in bidding projects, then created the engineering and installation team to build the system to specifications. Participated in engineering systems. Trained sales force, technicians and clients. • Kansas City Power & Light, Kansas City, MO: Successfully bid and substantially completed (96%) a combination Fire Alarm/Special Hazards Clean Agent install in 8 buildings in 10 weeks by coordinating around 7 different contracting companies. This was a roughly $800K project.• Lansing State Prison, Lansing, KS: Assisted Sales team in obtaining an 18-building renovation and upgrade of existing fire alarm system and fire alarm network in a fully functional medium- and maximum-security prison, with full complement of residents. Oversaw the design and installation. Coordinated contractors and inmates to complete the project successfully.

Designed fire protection systems and system upgrades for universities, hospitals and industrial buildings for a Fire Protection Engineering firm. Analyzed building codes, conducted site surveys, and produced system specifications, calculations and shop drawings. Supported sales staff by answering client’s technical questions. One of the lead presenters in Poole’s in-house and client-facing education program. Stand-out projects include:• Reynolds Army Community Hospital, Ft. Sill, OK: On-site, full-time management of a 10 month, $2M project to install a brand-new fire alarm system and upgrade, including voice notification, in a 1M square-foot building.• ConocoPhillips, Bartlesville, OK: Managed a 3-year, $3.5M project to upgrade all fire alarm systems in their world headquarters’ Research Center. Represented the owners when verifying the quality of the installation as well as compliance with project specifications, specific owner requirements, and all applicable codes.

Serviced large facility (university, housing authority, transportation) Fire Alarm Systems. Evaluated systems for performance, then proposed and installed upgrades. Performed inspection and testing for UL compliance, Fire Pump, Elevator and Final Acceptance.

End-to-end system installation. Analyzed blue prints and identified sections of the entire project that could be bid separately (“take-offs”). Created design proposals, analyzed building code, compiled project requirements, and successfully bid out jobs. Oversaw the installation and proper setup of systems. Ensured our company and installations maintained the appropriate inspection certifications. Coordinated work with local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

Installed, modified and serviced burglar, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, Phone, Data, Cable, Emergency Call and other low-voltage systems.

Sales support and oversight of a small branch office (up to 5 people) of a security and fire protection company. Produced shop drawings and system calculations. Coordinated with local AHJ, building officials and facilities owners. Wrote project proposals, managed budget, and ordered materials. Scheduled technicians for field work, then led the installation process.

Managed stock, supplies and coordinated 10 staff members for 13 warehouses across New England. Handled property damage claims against construction vehicles: met with customers, evaluated damage and negotiated resolution. Negotiated law enforcement services with over 70 state and local agencies.
