About Troy Adkins, Cae, Pmp

Troy Adkins, Cae, Pmp is a Senior Leader in Operations, Marketing & Membership at PLASTICS (Plastics Industry Association). He possess expertise in marketing strategy, leadership, social media marketing, public relations, marketing and 31 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I worked as a colleague with Troy at Independent Sector, and as part of the organization’s on-boarding program, he was assigned as my mentor. I feel lucky to have had his guidance and wisdom. He was so helpful to me with learning the organizational structure and culture, but also learning how to be a better manager for a small team from his example. Also, Troy was always looking for ways to collaborate more across departments. For example, he showed leadership by organizing informal monthly Director-level lunches to strengthen these relationships. Then, after his supervisor/Vice President left, Troy stepped up to fill her role along with his current responsibilities to such a high level that they never did hire another Vice President for that Department. Troy was particularly good at examining current membership and revenue models for new opportunities and leveraging his leadership within ASAE to bring back knowledge from outside peers to the organization. He’s also always trying to improve himself and his professional skills. If he wasn’t reading a leadership or business book, he was studying for the Certified Association Executive (CAE) exam. Or outside of the office, I encouraged him to join for a charity 5K. Two years later, he just finished a marathon in Paris – I’m not kidding! I’m just sorry that we don’t work in the same organization anymore, or I would still be popping down the hall to get his advice. Appreciate the chance to strongly recommend Troy. " and "I worked with Troy as a fellow director in the community department of USGBC for four years. He had a steady, consistent leadership style and wasnt about the limelight or fanfare. Troy ran a tight ship and was results-oriented. His leadership style as a supervisor was to coach and empower his team members, then get out of the way. His direct reports had the utmost respect for him. I always enjoyed working with Troy, as he was extremely professional and buttoned up. He took his job very seriously but was also good for a laugh or joke to lighten up stressful situations. I envision Troy thriving as an executive in any corporate environment and would trust him with any client relationship or project."
