In this role, I maintain a cross-functional perspective in order to provide operational support and act as a strategic advisor to departmental leadership, particularly in areas of contract negotiation and execution; organizational program management; event management; and reporting metrics to Board of Directors. Accomplishments and contributions include:• Provide contract and legal review and work with team leads across the organization throughout the contract negotiation process. Manage relationships with outside counsel and work directly with attorneys in drafting and executing legal agreements.• Oversee governance including an executive board, two non-executive boards, four board committees, and two committees of the corporation. Manage the meeting cadence for the board of directors and FARE leadership team, coordinating and distributing materials in advance, and managing flow of each meeting.• Act as strategic and/or tactical lead on high-profile and organization-spanning projects/initiatives focusing on creating systems and processes to streamline operations.

Joining FARE several months after a new CEO started, I worked in concert with the new CEO in implementing her organizational change plan. My focus was understanding and making recommendations to improve processes and procedures, staff skills vs. roles, culture and morale issues, and other operational advantages or roadblocks that would impact implementation of a new 5-year strategic plan.• Coordinated with senior team to develop and implement 5-year strategic plan.• Led numerous change initiatives at the organizational and departmental level throughout the first six months of my tenure including restructuring departments and, when necessary, reassigning or terminating staff to better align teams and goals.• Evaluated human resources by interviewing all staff to understand their background, skill sets, career objectives and current role at FARE to identify candidates for new opportunities brought about by an organizational change initiative.• Managed special projects/teams as necessary during the change process.

In this position, I played a key leadership role in efforts to secure revenue for and deepen member engagement in IS activities. I contributed to the development of strategy for organizational membership cultivation and retention and led acquisition efforts. Additionally, as part of a three-staff team, I was tasked with reimagining IS’ annual conference and to implement a new strategy and approach making the conference a year-round experience.

ASID is a nonprofit society representing the interests of interior designers and the interior design community. As director of membership and customer service, my role can be distilled to building a community of professionals and companies by providing value through their affiliation with the organization and insuring superior service to those members in order to maintain that value promise. I oversee the development and execution of member recruitment and retention campaigns. Working collaboratively to gain organization-wide support and execution, I regularly engage with staff across all departments as well as association volunteers including Board members and leaders from ASID's 48 chapters.
